just got a new muzzleloader for xmas its the new thomason endevor it has the new nicon omga scope is this a good gun and scope package i also will be shooting the triple seven 150 grains of powder in pellets and the triple seven primers and the 50 cal 250 grain super glide bonded sabets whats everones opions on this combo

150 grains of 777 is way, way too much load for anything that qualifies as game in Michigan. 100 gr will be more than enough for even a bull elk.

I would suggest that you use loose powder and develop the most accurate load for that rifle by testing from 70 to 100 gr in 5 grain increments. Shoot for smallest group regardless of POA at the ranges (distances) you intend to hunt.

triple 7 pellets

if you read up on the nicon scope in order for the scope to be on with the gun thats what they say to us ive never put 150 grain in my old omga 50 cal and i was shooting between 100 and 175yds but the scope is supose to be good up too 225 thats a ways out there im going to start with 100 grains like you said and work with the scope at about the 100 to 150 yd any farther than that i feel like thats pressing the limits

150grs is just fine. Three 50gr pellets behind a T/C shockwave 250gr bullet will put you dead on with the scope. If you shoot the 200gr shockwave you will be 2" high at 100 and pretty much on out to 250 yards with the scopes BDC. I have two Omegas that I am shooting 3.5" groups with at 300 yards. Both have the Nikon Omega scope. I have shot 6 deer with this set-up from 90-240 yards. All dropped where they stood with exit wounds. It's overkill for deer, but I don't need to bloodtrail one either.

I have the Omega scope on my Triumph and I like it. I like the circular recticals. Good for different distances. With the circles you see the impact point. I like that.
I have been using 80-85grns loose T-7 with the 250 grn shock waves. They are very accurate and they hold together very well. Much better that the powerbelts. I tested the PB's against the SW's and there was no comparison. I hate to say it too. Up until yesterday I was powerbelt all the way but after seeing a 348 grn PB turn to birdshot with only 85 grns of T7 pushing it, that was all I needed to know. They were fired into a 30 gallon soft plastic 9/16 thick water barrel.
