......... Couldn't help it because I had to be the one to purchase it....... They won't sell 'em to kids. Would that make it a "straw purchase" ? At least it fits in the rack.

It probably is a straw purchase. I read about a guy in WM that was going to buy a SG for his grandkids Christmas gift and made the mistake of telling the WM person that he was doing that and they refused the sale to him. So I guess you can't say anything anymore.

I looked around a bit in my attic but didn't find my old window rack. Its there. I just gotta go Indiana Jones on it and dig it out of where ever I stuffed it.

First thing bought after getting a "new" truck was a gun rack for the back window. Graduated in 88 (crap, seems like yesterday). Small suburb about 12 miles east of Columbus. Either a semi auto .22 Marlin (could not afford the 10/22) or a Mossberg 500, sometimes both. Also was home to a fishing rod or three. I miss those days.......

I had a rack mounted to the roll cage in my CJ5 Jeep Renagade usually had a Remington 742 or 700 and a single shot 22 there wasn't a lock on the rag top, after swapping the 304 V8 for a 350 V8 it was a handful of fun. That was the mid 70s when people respected other peoples property.

I had a part time job in a machine shop as a high school kid, starting as the cleanup guy, progressing into some welding and machine work. One of my first "off the clock" projects was a gun rack for my pickup. The shop teacher at school liked it so well, he invited me to teach a class on metal cutting, bending, welding and painting for interested shop students.
