What is your truck gun and why?

If I could leave guns in my truck, it would be my SKS paratrooper and S&W model 28. However, I work in Chitcago and do not want to think about what would happen if my vehicle got searched.

Keltec sub2000. Handy with folding ability.

I also used a Indian Enfield in .308 for some years before getting the Keltec. Long, but cheap, tough and accurate.
The 308 would have been a plus in rural areas, but my use is mostly urban and suburban.

Whoops! Forgot to tell why I carry what I do!

I am of the group that also believes that you don't have to be, and probably won't, be at home when the zombies come:neener: ! If I can't get to the M4, or AK, then I gotta dance with the one I brought. I like my Glock 23 and the 26rounds of .40 S&W I carry for her, but not up against a rifle/body armor wearing bank robber, zombie horde , or TEOTWAWKI:eek: ...

Deer Hunter, I live in Denton, but work sometimes in South Dallas. The trip to the home fortress could be 60 miles as the crow flies. If I have to transit a city like Dallas with all those zombies roaming around, I figure I may need a little bit of fire power!:D Otherwise, I may have to head for East Texas to your compound to re-fuel and re-arm to get home.:what: You wouldn't mind another shooter around would you (as long as I don't bring any zombie germs to you!:scrutiny: )?:D :uhoh:

when I actually owned a truck, my truck gun was a Mosin-Nagant M44 secured by one of those rubber coated hooks for hanging bicycles. I bent the hook so it would hold the rifle, but still come loose if I yanked it from the drivers seat. I liked the m44 because it was solid, reliable and inexpensive. If it got messed up or stolen, I'm only out $80 or so. It gave me plenty of power for anything I'd ever need and I could keep extra ammo in the door pocket or center console.

when I sold the truck, my "truck" gun became my FN Forty-Nine in .40S&W.
It handles much better when I'm in my VW GTI.

-edit- my truck was an 84 Ford Bronco and the rifle slept under the seat.

Don't have a truck anymore. :(

Automobile gun is same as my CCW: Kahr K9. If I had a truck that would let me bump around on back roads, I'd make room for a .22 rifle and probably an SKS.

jmm

ps. Rifles would only be in the truck if I was.
