The Pardner Pump Thread

I bought mine last year with a 28 inch barrel for $169.00 plus tax at Olde English in Tipp City. Great lil gun and handles magnums well too.

I have the Tnn 1897 shotgun also and the pardner is smoother...

I wouldn't buy a new barrel. Take it to a smith and have them cut it and put a new bead on. 30 bucks or so.

PP Accessories

Are there any accessories such as synthetic stocks, pistol grips etc fror the pardner pump 20 gauge like you can get for the Remington?

Everything is interchangable between the 870 and the Pardner EXCEPT the barrel...

So anything you can put on a 870 can go on a pardner.....

I can get one from a local guy for $150 in camo that is in like new condition. wondering if i should jump on it, especially hearing that the furniture is interchangeable with my wingmaster.

it may have been mentioned already but there was a metalurgy test done with these weapons vs the rems and it was found that the pards actually had a better quality on some components. i have been trying to find the link but cant. if anyone has it please post

Academy in Spartanburg, SC has 'em for $159. I got mine yesterday. Too bad they don't take layaway -- Black Friday is sales tax holiday in SC

Is everything really interchangeable besides the barrel betwen 20ga guns? I'm speaking of the 870 express to the pardner pump. My friend's pardner pump will not take the magazine tube cap that was made for the remington 870 ( he wants a sling). Any suggestions? Would an extended magazine tube remedy this problem?

^ I believe you found the only other part that isn't interchangeable.

MAX100 might be able to help you out. I know he does 12ga tube extensions for the Pardners but I don't know if what you're talking about relates to that in any way.

Got my PP Defender model last month in Texas at Academy for $159. My first 12-gauge, and I love it! I put about 100 rounds through it to get a feel for ir. Now it's close at hand, loaded with 00 buck in case I need it.

I don't have any experience with the 20Ga Pardner Pump shotguns but I have read that they are different than the 870 20Ga shotguns. Parts don't interchange.

I've had a couple. I actually use one as my main waterfowl gun. It has been through hell and back.

I have this one right now beside the bed. I put a wood stock from an 870 on it.

This is my old one I traded in a long time ago. The mag ext. was from MAX100. Very good quality!

MAX100- I've been trying to reach you about a mag ext. for my new pardner.

Ive posted pics of my Pardner before, but since this thread does need pics...

RevolvingGarbage, where did you get the heatshield and what brand is it?
Its an ATI 870 pattern parkerized heat-shield. I got it from the same shop I bought the gun from (Al's Army/Navy Surplus in Orlando, FL). It was about $30 IIRC.

It wasnt a perfect fit on the gun out of the box. Aside from the standard mounting process, I had to bend the sides of the heat shield in a bit for proper clearance on the forearm, and I had to remove some material from the inside of the forearm to clear the end of the heat shield. It wasnt difficult at all, and it mounts straight and solid.

I painted the whole gun in 500 degree engine enamel, so if the color looks kinda dark for park, thats why.

they are great guns mine felt better then a 870 express they may be made in china but very well. and i had no jams in 600 rounds

I need serious help! I cannot find a way to ut a sling on the 20ga youth mdel pardner pump! I have spent hours online looking for parts and nothing so far. If anyone can chime in with some advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

They're chinese knock-offs of the 870. Doesn't that bother anyone else but me? I wouldn't have one just for that reason. I want the real deal - not some damn Chinese copy of a gun engineered and built in America - with american labor.

So, be proud to own your Chinese shotguns. But, don't complain when Chinese slave laborers take your job.

I have both an 870 and an NEF.
Where does that put me in your book, Big Bill?

I find it almost humorous that you are likely typing on a keyboard "made in China".
Typing into a computer where most of the components are probably "made in China".
And quite likely sitting on an office chair also "made in China".
Walk around your house and look at where everything was made.

Let him who has no sin cast the first stone.
