The perfect Revolver if you only can have one

Concealed carry is what it's all about for me. I prefer a revolver and it must of necessity be fairly narrow in the cylinder.

Therefore, I carry a 640 J frame loaded with DPX ammo carried on the belt.

My favorite and main revolver.

Nobody made one, so I had David Clements do one up right. If I could only have one, this would be it. S&W 681-3 converted to 5-shot .44 Special (4" barrel).

Yep, I will third, fourth, or whatever, and say the SP 3" or GP 4" would fit the ticket perfectly for me.

If it had to be only one, it would have to be my Dan Wesson .44 mag stainless pistol pack. 4", 6", and 8" barrels.

My Ruger GP-100 fixed sight 3" with a big dot front night sight about fits the bill. I would also really like a S&W 620 with night sights and NO LOCK!

S&W 66 or 65 with a 3" barrel. The Ruger SP101 would come in at a close 2nd. 66-23inch.jpg

Man that is a hard question for a revolver guy like me. I love the old reliable law enforcement revolver. Most of my revolvers could of been a revolver for a officer. But I would have to say my Ruger Police Service Six 4 inch blued revolver would be the one I would have if I could only have one. Stronger than my Smith and Wesson model 10 and 66 but just as simple. Lighter to carry than my Smith 686, 28 or my Ruger GP100. My Service Six can handle the 357s or 38s and be light enough to carry in a holster.

But then again, I would not want to be without any of my collection of revolvers.

Thanks,

If I had to choose It would be hard but boil down to a S&W 686+ Classic 4" fully lugged barrel or a S&W 629 Classic 5" fully lugged barrel.

Both are excellent Revolvers.

A 6" DA .357 with adjustable sights. Target, carrying, home defense, hunting, it does it all. The rounds range from ferocious in .357 full-house guise, to a cap gun, when loaded with 148 gr. WC.

The cartridges can be easily reloaded; bullets are relatively inexpensive, and a pound of powder lasts a good while. Plus, low-pressure 38s give very long case life.

This arm should be the foundation of any gun collection.

For me its always the one that I have yet to buy that I have just seen on the internet or in a dealers case.

Dan Wesson is where it's at with the pistol pack, k-frame compatibility, and rugged action.

You can go from a carry length stubby barrel to a silhouette barrel in seconds, they were made in popular calibers (I like .357), and tend to have a great finish.

Probably the most versatile revolver package on the market and certainly a great deal for the money, should you have sense enough to buy one.

+1 for the 3 inch S&W K frame. My particular fav is the model 65 3 inch with the full barrel shroud.

I have to agree. I had a 65 Ladysmith that I foolishly sold. That model imho is the most versatile and practical revolver S&W has ever made.

I also had a 65LS that I let get away from me. It was a wonderful revolver and extremely well put together. I don't know what I was thinking.
