The Perfected

Hi, Cooldill,

You might change your mind about carry once you see the price tag on a nice Perfected. The fact is that with a carry gun, it's "use it and lose it."

If you carry a gun and need to use it, it is a certainty that the police will seize it as evidence. When (or IF) you get it back, it may have been tossed on a concrete floor or left to rust in a damp evidence room. I strongly recommend against ever carrying a valuable or "collector" gun (or any gun you are not willing to lose).

Yup....

Those are wise words. I often carry a totally reliable S&W model 10 that's 100% when it comes to mechanics but looks like somebody dunked it in salt water and then left it outside in humid weather. :barf:

Cost me an outrageous $135.00!

Besides the obvious which Jim pointed out in the above post, if it ends up on an evidence table in either a criminal or civil trial my attorney won't have to convince a judge or jury that it isn't some kind of custom killing machine that I just had to try out on my chosen victim - which the other side might try to claim.

And if it does suffer from mistreatment in an evidence room it likely won't show.

I like to look at the old top-breaks, not interested in investing my money in them, though. But they are an interesting piece of history, and sort of conjure up images from the 1920s, especially with pearl grips and nickle plating.

And CraigC has a shortened Schofield that is really intriguing in its own appearance.
