I think if a person is thinking of asking the question "Why do you need that?", you should try to rephrase the question. Maybe the intent of the question is more along the lines of "Wow, that's a lot of money to me for a weapon, or a strange weapon in my understanding...what is the appeal, intended use or activity that said firearm would be utilized?" I'm just chiming in on this, because I have conditioned myself to react a little harshly to the question "why do you need that?" or "how many guns do you need?" because it is the line of questioning the 'antis' like to use when clamoring for new despotic legislation. I'll try to curb any defensive posture and just explain in a more diplomatic way from now on, but if someone asks in person face to face, and there is that certain snide tone in the question, that's when I'll go into a rant mode.
