These are all good points. Why don't we ever hear these on the televised debates (arguments). I always use the "It's my right" and the "the badguys have them why shouldn't I?" points. Our reps always seem to draw a blank on this.

I need it because I don't believe in a fair fight.

If a bad guy has a knife, I want a gun. If he has a gun with 10 rounds, I want a bigger and faster gun with 30 rounds. If he has a gun with 30 rounds, I want a gun and body armor.

In other words, I want to stack the deck in my favor. A fair fight has boundaries and a referee, the real world does not. At the end of the day, I want to be able to defend myself against the scum that walks this earth in human form. My life and health are worth more to me and my family than those of a criminal.
