Two minutes' variation a month is not good accuracy. A good quartz movement will not lose a second a YEAR.

Two minutes +/- a month for an automatic watch is good. One second or less +/- a MONTH is good for a thermocompenstated quartz watch. Less than one second a year is not possible in a quartz watch unless it is constantly electronically updated by an atomic clock and that is not available in a wrist watch.

Getting back to the SIG :D, what can you tell me about the anchor engraved on it and its availability for purchase? The questions I asked in my first posting still have not been answered.

I don't even wear a watch, but carry mini computer/phone.

Not much good if you don't have a charger. Unless you are carrying your phone in your hand at all times a watch provides faster access to the time and is much harder to break when you drop it. Unless you remain in cell range to receive updates the clock in your phone will not remain accurate for long. No person will admire the old phone you have but many will admire a old high quality watch you wear. A new phone becomes a boring old phone within months.

Can anyone answer the questions I asked about the SIG?

The anchor and UID label are applied to the Mk-25 P226 9mm known as the "Navy." The gun has a corrosion resistant phosphate material applied to the internals as well as the magazines. In addition to the fancy anchor, it comes from the factory with Sig's SRT (short reset trigger) as well as night sights.

It is available in either black or FDE finish with or without a threaded barrel.

They are widely available.

Hope that helps. ;)

At first I thought is was a simple typo when you put WK-25, but you keep typing it. Is it a different model I may not be aware of or do you mean to type MK25?

http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProdu...p226-mk25.aspx

It was a TYPO it's a MK-25 NOT a WK-25 Hopes this clears it up.

JTQ and russianbear thanks, I don't know how I missed seeing that link in post #9. Middleage early senility no doubt.

russianbear I have been thinking about the 1961 Submariner you have and think you might benefit from asking about it on the Rolex Forum located here:

Reading all this watch talk, I know how my wife feels when I go on to her about my guns... boooooring :neener:

Seriously though, that is a very nice pistol you have there. How much use does it see?

Very nice combination.

I bought the same watch brand new in the 1970s ($660 in 1977!). Nah, they're not as accurate as any electric watch these days, but they're not going to quit on you either. I stopped wearing it daily about 10 years ago and now wear a battery watch that's lighter and easier to see at night. Beautiful watches... and dated by today's standards.... like everything though.

Is there anyone shooting their MK-25 navy's?
Yep. Reliable, durable, accurate, and it's a SIG ... made for shooting a lot.

(Don't own a Rolex. An Omega, a Tissot and a bunch of Casios, though ...)
