Questionable Sig decision making

So I'm a pretty big fan of the Sig Sauer SP2022. For the shooters who prefer a DA/SA pistol but want a lighter weight polymer its a natural choice. With that said I rented a P250 a while back at the range and was not impressed. They seem to be spending a lot of time and money pushing this product with mixed results. My question is was it a mistake building this new product line? My opinion is they should have expanded the Sp2022 line.

Reputation alone and good marketing, we can chuck the whole Q/A, Q/C and C/S out the window and carry money to the bank in wheelbarrows......
Until we finally destroy the name and marketing and then the folks in charge can find another company to work for and do it all over again.

The P250 has a totally different type trigger action than the SP2022 and if you are a DA/SA trigger fan then it is not suprising that you did not like the P250. It is not my cup of tea either but there are many that love their P250s. The latest generation of the P250 out since start of 2011 I believe has seems to have much less problems than the original version of the P250.

If SIG wants to continue making the P250 then good for them and for those that like it. Myself I don't lose any sleep about other models that any company makes that I am not intererested in.

The reason the SigPro series is so affordable is that they haven't spent any development dollars on it since 2002, when they introduced the 2022.

The SIG 250 was designed to herald in platform that would allow an owner to have a choice of three different sizes guns (subcompact, compact and FS) in four calibers (9mm, .40, 37 SIG and .45 ACP) all on the same chassis (same serial number)

I'm not personally a fan, but the DA trigger pull on the 250 is the lightest of all SIGs

I like the P250 for what it is... A simple and reliable gun...

I got mine for $350, so I can't complain at all.

Yep, but then they are a business; in it to make money. It's up to the individual consumer to decide what is worth buying. caveat emptor applies ... always has.

I have a sp2009. I think it is a better looking hand gun then the 2022. They are the same gun, just changed it for the french government.
I like mine, shoots great and I find it very easy to conceal on my body.

I just traded a 250SC for something more concealable I liked the gun just fine but as an alternative to my Hi-power for carry the difference was negligible.
I did not mind the Trigger Pull since it was so light to pull the travel distance was not a problem in my experience.

The P250 really is a great gun. I tell people that you have to understand the philosophy behind the long trigger pull. If you like race guns with short resets, then it's not the gun for you. If you want a home defense gun that has no safeties and guards against accidental discharges by way of a long trigger pull, then it's a hard one to beat.

I don't doubt the gun a bit. I just don't understand why they came up with the P250 line instead of expanding the SP line with a sub compact and full size. I'll probably own a P250 eventually anyway.

They had decided to discontinue the SP line as a dead end...the idea of the 250 just had more potential as to size variations

I just traded for a new P250 subcompact and so far I like it. I don't mind the long trigger pull and it was smooth . I had no trouble keeping my groups within less than one minute of bad guy. I'm used to shooting a Colt 1911 and so the DAO Sig will take a little getting used to. I liked the weight and feel of the Sig and the sights seem to be quick and accurate. It's not a nail driver and was not designed to be. For a SD weapon I think it will so well as it is both quick and accurate. That said, I've only had the chance to put 50 rounds through it so I have no idea how reliable this pistol is and this is my first plastic weapon. Something I swore at one time I'd never own. With out a full mag polymer guns always feel top heavy to me. Of course I'm a little biased because I'm used to the fit and balance of the 1911.
