Zastava Mausers

As we announced in our special eNewsletter early in November, the U.S. State Department has cleared the way for our Mauser Action rifle business by certifying that Serbia had met the criteria for normal trade relations. This action has removed a prohibitive tariff and replaced it with one that will allow us to be competitive in the marketplace.

We are extremely excited by the opportunities this development brings to Charles Daly. Not only will we offer one of the most respected firearms lines in the country but we will have a full supply of barreled actions and actions as well.

Manufactured by Zastava, these Mauser 98 bolt actions are time tested and the heart of many of the world's finest customized firearms. All internal parts are machined form forgings, including a one-piece steel trigger guard and hinged steel floorplate. The bolt and bolt handle are machined form one solid forging providing for maximum strength. The actions have been refined to include a two position positive sliding safety on the side of the receiver, and an adjustable trigger with a serrated blade face.

All barreled actions are available with either a high luster or matte blue finish, and are available in .22-250; .308; 270; 243; 7mm; 300 Win Mag; 25-06; 30-06; as well as the safari calibers .375 H&H and .458 Win Mag. Barreled actions range in length from 22 inches for .22-250 up to .30-06 .24 inches for 7MM and 300 WM, and 26 inches for .375 H&H and. 458WM.

Mini-Mauser barreled actions in .223 .22 Hornet and 7.62 X 39 will soon be available, as well as unfinished actions in the white. Look for future Product Features to focus on these products at www.CharlesDaly.Com in the months to come.

The implementation of NTR for Serbia means more than just rifles, barreled actions, and actions but opens a full line of extremely high quality firearms to our customers. Look for our monthly emails to bring you information on these products such as the Charles Daly ZDA in the future. The ZDA is a truly unique pistol featuring magazine release safety, loaded chamber indicator, and a distinctive low shot indicator (LSI) that tells you when there are only a few rounds left in the magazine.

Zastava's history of providing precision military firearms is rich and turbulent dating back to 1832. After the end of World War II, Zastava, began a to separate itself from the state arsenal concept and had to focus on the production of market oriented consumer goods. In 1954 Zastava offered its first production of small caliber rifles for commercial sale. Not only did they manufacture sporting rifles but also started to manufacture automobiles as well including America's Willys Jeep and Italy's FIAT.

Today Zastava's manufacturing plant is a modern ISO 9001 certified factory supplying all of the needs of the Serbian Military as well as superb sporting firearms to the worlds markets and will proudly wear the Charles Daly name in the United States.

Zastava also "manufactured" the Yugo. :D

Did I miss something? The thread title is about a new semi called the ZDA, but the post is describing new bolt-action rifles?

Edited to add: Oh...reread the post and saw it hiding there.

Where can one learn more about, and see pictures of, the ZDA?

Very interesting. Thanks.

Exhibiting the finest European craftsmanship, these rifles have been carefully designed and built to recapture the time honored features and performance of the classic Mauser model 98. Built to embody what you expect from Charles Daly.

The receiver and bolt are finely machined from forged steel to utilize dual, opposed forward locking lugs as well as a third rear locking lug for unmatched strength and safety. Barrels are cold hammer forged using the finest Chrome Vanadium or Stainless Steels. Fully adjustable trigger, forged steel trigger guard, integral hinged forged steel floorplate and two-position side safeties are all standard features. The result is uncompromising accuracy, the ultimate in reliability and durability, at a competitive price.

Offered in both matte blue or matte stainless steel and featuring an all weather polymer stock with cheekpiece, recoil pad and sling swivel studs, this is a rifle built to withstand the test of the elements and the test of time.

The only problem with moving this to "Rifle country" is it makes me look like a complete idiot since most of the article is about new bolt actions but i was concerned with the blurb on their new semi handgun-oh well.

"Zastava yugo, zastava yu do, we'll be right there with you..."

TropZ, you could maybe have avoided all the confusion by editing out the three paragraphs about rifles, and leaving just the sentence and a half about the pistols you wanted to discuss. For what it's worth... ;)

BTW: from that tiny bit of info you gather that it will be the "semi-auto by which all others are judged"? From all the information given, it could be a blowback piece of junk made of cast zinc... :uhoh:

Well the Zastava was probably the best AK of them all..too bad not many got imported..kind of a hens teeth AK but ahhh nice. Pretty much of a quality like the Valmet.
