From the recent posts, there are obviously lots of very good condition to excellent revolvers for around $300 or less. Sometimes it takes looking around for that deal. Find one that you can handle and function check before commiting to a deal.
I had been looking for a Colt Snubbie for a while but had put the search on the back burner because there just didn't seem to be much available locally and I was always outbid on Gunbroker or they were just more than I wanted to spend. I have picked up a couple of autos recently instead (CZ 75 B, Kel-tec P32, put money down on a Kel-tec P-11), so, my "fun money" was gone.
Yesterday I walk into Bass Pro's Fine Gun Room and lo and behold there is a Colt Detective Special. It has some holster wear but is in good condition overall. I left without it but went back today to pick it up. I paid $318.50 + tax. Now, maybe, some new grips.
I'll get some quick pics up pretty soon. I'm thinking about getting some Badger grips since a lot of you Colt guys seem to like them. Plus, they are easy on the eyes , too.
