Who is the one that has that copper piece that fits around the barrel and loading lever. that seems to be best i have seen so far.

BTW, a Walker was featured in the Bruce Willis film, Last Man Standing. It's used by the barkeep at the end.

Just thought that I'd share my latest acquisition with you all.

Allow me to introduce my Colt Second Generation Walker, serial # 323xx.
This is the rare variation with the COLT'S PATENT stamped on the left side of the receiver. Only 245 made. Lovely grips. The oak case is French-fitted for the accessories (which are absent at the moment). In the next week or two, I'll show you an exact duplicate of the only known civilian Walker case.

Cheers,

Bill

apart from dixiegunworks, where else can i score a nice case for the Walker?

and is there anywhere to get a soft leather case that can fit a Walker?

Try:

Bill Shumate makes excellent wood cases for any type of pistol that you want. He made my Walker case (which I'll show pics of when it arrives very soon). Go to his web site, and see what he's made. I've bought three from him, and they're all top-quality.

As for leather holsters, try GOOGLE-ing under "Colt Walker holster" and see what pops up.

Cheers,

3 ASM Walkers (one with case & accessories), one Pietta Navy, one Lyman Navy, one Uberti 1st Model Dragoon, one Pietta 1860 Army, and one Nickel Uberti Walker with case and accessories

Hi Scat. So many members would you add me to the list please. You'll find my post on page 119, post 2954 and 2955.

Seven ............. I think ....... or maybe only six.

Once I get the shipment, I'll more than likely be selling half or more of it. I only bid on the lot to get the nickel plated cased Uberti and the Lyman Navy. May keep the Dragoon and Nickel Navy too; but not sure about that.

You mean this?

It's brass and I don't know the source, it came with the Walker when I bought it.

This is my Walker revolver. Her name is darlin lol...I use it as my main self defense weapon...(i some times carry a glock 45 but there is nothing like the Walker)...I always have loaded 55 to 60 g of powder and use round or conical.
I use brass powder flasks and a straitline capper and the tear drop capper.
Can i join the Walker club now;)

Oh one other thing...I noticed on many chat rooms, that when people keep the Walker loaded, the keep one cap off so that the hammer rests on the empty nipple....there is a little nub on the back of the cylinder (between two of the nipples)this is where the hammer rests on(locks in place)so that all 6 chambers can be loaded. this was the safety feature of the day back in 1847....just wanted to share that.

alienbogey, that gun has a beautiful patina ... but you oughta de-blue the cylinder. And I hope someone weighs in on a source for the brass lever clip ... or else I'm going to have to try and cobble one up. That looks sweet!

sltm1 made some of the loading lever clips. You might do a search for his posts I believe their may be some of the things some where around pag 70 give or take five pages.
