CCI Stinger

I've been using CCI Stingers since they came out in the 1970's. Up until then, the only other thing on the market were the (then) high velocity .22 LR HPs made by the likes of Remington and Winchester. The Stinger was a marked improvement over both.

I've tested a couple dozen different 22LRs over the years, and have found that the Stingers are pretty close to the other solids in accuracy, so I still use them for critters in the 'squirrel to groundhog' category. It's still a good round.

4. At $7.50 for a box of 550, the Federal HP's are the best all purpose load.[end quote]

Even Walmart charges over $10 now. Where do you get ammo at $7.50?

Just for fun one time I went and ordered 10 different 22lr ammo 2 boxes each. I was amazed at how many different 22lr ammos there are. There's literally hundreds of choices. IMO ten different ammos are too many to test and evaluate unless you have nothing but spare time.

I know many people do not like Remington Thunderbolts, but they have worked very well for me. I have taken one-shot kills (head / neck shots) on woodchucks to 175 yards.

I still have a bunch of Winchester Dynapoint 40 grain HP's in the bulk milk cartons I bought from K-Mart a decade ago. They shoot straight and work well on small game.
