The well rounded collection

A bolt action rifle in .308, or .270, or 30-06 or a lever action in 45-70

A .22 rifle and an ACCURATE .22 handgun

A shotgun (I do not care for them nor have one but they are very versatile.)

A .357 or .44 mag revolver

A Glock 19 or similar

A reliable concealed carry piece.

A carbine rifle in a pistol caliber or 30-30 or similar. (For most the AR fills this role.)

If I could only keep two it would probably be my .308 and the G19, but I'd hate to part with the 45-70.

IMHO, a well rounded collection includes one of each;
From the NFA category list:
Machine Gun, Silencer, SBR, SBS, DD, AOW, but that's just me.

Well then I'm almost there, I have all but the SBS.

Hmm,a well rounded collection of firearms? that is a collection that would be able to fill mostly any purpose. .22 rimfire for small critters, .22centerfire for bigger varmints , some kind of a .30 cal centerfire rifle +or- for the larger animals, some kind of shot gun,or two,and the pistols,a .22, a 1911,or glock ,and a large caliber wheel gun.also you need a AR15,or AK or both, just because it annoys the P.C. types. It would be nice to have some that use the same ammunition, like a pistol, and rifle combination in .357.

well rounded

12ga Ithaca 37 12ga,S&W 686+,Marlin 1894C 357 mag to go with the 686,Ruger MKIII Hunter Target,Ruger 10/22 LVT.There's more in my closet but that's enough for now.

Depends on how you define "well rounded". I'd imagine doing that is like defining "big". Just how big is big?

To my wife, "well rounded" means one of every member of a given line of guns. To me lately it means adding certain surplus guns. It just depends.

I don't have a single gun to "round out" my collection. Mine are guns I enjoy(which tends NOT to be anything that has been popular in the past 20 years).
Almost exclusively now I have vintage arms primarily applicable to the north east woods, Wood stocks, hand machined, well worn.
