I went in one of my two favorite gun shops yesterday and saw they have 2 Pythons, both in excellent condition, one is a 2in, the other a 6in both with stock stocks.....they want $950.00 for each...think the same guy owned them both and either traded them in or it was an estate sale.

The 2 inch sounds like a good deal for that price, but that's average or above average $ for a 6 inch. Both blued finish, I assume?

Darn right! But I still dont think the stainless Pythons are as sought after as the blued ones, and yes these are blued and the blueing is in great condition on bofum. Oh, and I'd love to have that 2 in! But it is either that or a new M4.....hmmm, me thinks M4 is in order...

2 1/2" Pythons can go for $1200 and up. They are also not seen all that often. The M4s are a dime a dozen that can be found anytime. Take the good deal on the snubby Python.

Why would anyone want a 2-inch?? These are shooting guns and not defense guns. A 4- or 6-incher would make far more sense to me.

Both my 2.5-inch Pythons are excellent target shooters, as well as first class carry guns. One of the great secrets of snub-nosed revolvers is that if the shooter does his part, the gun usually does its.

I had a similar incident a while back. Found a beautiful 4" blued python for $720. I don't remember why I passed. I think it might have had something to do with the fact that I wanted to continue to eat that week. :banghead: Stupid stomach.

FYI: Mint Blued & Boxed 2.5 inch Pythons are bringing between $1700-$1900 at auction.
I have seen at least 5 sell in that range in the last 60 days.

But you can always get an M4 (at least for the next couple of years) but when will you find another deal like this on a snubbie python?

colt python-3"-Wisconsin-Tolly

What are 3" colt pythons bringing in price NIB.

Tolly

It has to be a 2in as it only has one slot in the vent rib...plus it only looks like a 2in....so...should I go buy it for $950.00? Like right now!!!?? I have the money, just wondering if the thing will make me 1/2 more money or better if I turn it around...

Go out RIGHT NOW and buy it!~

Use the pretense that you are going to re-sell it...

Then change your mind and keep it!

Why would anyone CCW a Python or any expensive boutique gun? Are you nuts? :p

Think! The Po-Po will take the gun away from you after you shoot that crack head that's trying to kill you, and you may or may not ever get it back. And if you do get it back, it may have some nice new engraving done on it, like EXHIBIT A, or whatever.

Carry inexpensive.

A 4-inch Python would be ideal. The snubnose Pythons kind of remind me of RG .22LR at first glance. But yeah, I know how accurate snubbies can be. I've shot clay targets at 100 yards with them. Even so, it's so nice to have those two extra inches. If you want a snub, buy a Ruger.

One of the last things you're going to have to worry about after shooting someone, unless you're a LEO is when or in what condition you'll get your gun back. You'll be pretty busy fighting off all the lawsuits. And since I hope and pray 99% of us will never have to use our carry gun, I think it'd be real nice to carry a real nice piece.

Buy both of them if you can.

I actually got a 6in last month, bought it for myself for my birthday from a buddy who wanted money for his motorcycle, got it fo $300.00....this one I am going to evaluate at lunch today again you know, look long and hard at it and see if it 100% and ask if it has the original box and papers and all. I'll keep you guys posted, and yes I'd love to keep it and carry it since I have CCW but would probably not carry it as I am carring my 605 right now and that is a fine gun for CCW and the whole thing about LEO taking my 2in Python would make me cry!
