Thinking about an FAL

Somebody asked about the issues associated with removing the bipod.

The standard design can be a massive PITA to remove if you don't have proper tools, or you are in a hurry, or you are not in the mood to chase small parts around the range.

There is a detatchable design that looks practically identical to the original design, but also allows instant removal without heartburn.

Flip the lever, bipod comes right off.

Thanks for the replies on recoil, guys. The PTR I fired felt like a shorter duration, sharper recoil, but not necessarily harder. Perhaps due to bolt locking mechanisms and function.
