What all is involved in steel shooting? It looks like the shooter is stationary the entire time?

Most of the Steel Challenge stages are shot while stationary. A couple of the "book" stages have a little movement. No more than 5-10 feet. Pueblo and Greeley are the only places that run Steel matches.

There is no minimum ammo power factor. A 9x19 is just as good as a 45. Cost wise I use 22s and 9x19s.

Sounds like a great time! I will definitely look into it further, but I need to get back to basics it appears. I went to the range today and blasted about 250 rounds with my newish glock, and I really, really need to get the sight picture down pat. Even when I went slow sometimes I didn't do nearly as well as I wanted, while other times I could shoot quickly and hit the target every time. We were using 10" paper plates at 7, 10, and 15 yards. Got to play with my new shotgun as well! That was satisfying.
