I am thinking about getting a 1911 style handgun. In one respect i want a basic mil-spec military style gun. no fancy hammer or beaver-tail grip safety, no fancy mag well just an old school looking 1911.
On the other hand i dont have a particular affinity for the .45acp, nothing wrong with it im just not dying to get one. The 10mm on the other hand is a much more appealing cartridge to me and id much rather get one of them than a .45acp.
So heres the question: should i just wait and buy two guns, (a 1911 and a 10mm) or should i buy a 1911-style gun chambered in 10mm?
If i get a "regular" 1911 it will probably be the springfield mil-spec stainless. no serrations on the slide no mag well no commander hammer no beaver-tail grip safety, no beveled edge for undented brass no target sights. I found one at a local gun shop for $630.
Anybody know of any other quality 1911's that fit my description or any 1911-style guns in 10mm, feel free to let me know.
For the record i held the springfield i looked at and me and the gun shop owner agree the springfields hammer would not "bite" my hand, the top of the grip safety is slightly "thicker" on the springfields and I see no way it will bite my hand.
