I have a buddy in maine who goes to school in Lewiston and a buddy from Missouri who lives in St. Louis. I occasionally visit both.

Now, I cannot get a licence in my home state of PA because the state says you have to be 21 and I am 19. However, Maine will issue non-resident permits to anyone over 18. Missouri according to packing.org acceps CWP's from essentially every state in the union, even non-resident.

So it's still won't help me back home, but at least i'll be able to pack heat on vacation in 9 states. It'll probably tighten some sphincters here in PA though. Let's see the indoor range pull that "you can't legally shoot a handgun under 21 without supervision" crap if i'm licenced to carry in another state (not to mention my letter from the Attorney General)

just by coincidence...

This week I am applying for my non-resident Maine permit, Clubsoda. I'm bear hunting up there in August with the bow. I usually borrow a friend's .44, but this year will be taking my own bear-backup piece. (I've had a couple of bears try to climb the tree with me, so this isn't a hypothetical, lol)

As for the application process, I just went through the paperwork and it's pretty straightforward. I think the fee is 60 bucks, processing time is 90 days or so. You need to present proof of a handgun permit in your home state, SS#, birth certificate, and fill out a lengthy form. The usual.

Packing.org has the e-mail contact numbers, as I'm sure you already know.

Good luck,
Joel
