i've wanted one for a while and this is the time of year when i have the money. i've read numerous negative and positive feed backs on the p22 but was wondering if they had fixed the bugs yet. reminds me of when i bought my gsg5 and people saying bad things about the gun but i've had very good luck with it so far. my other choices was the mosquito but i don't want the heavy trigger pull, and the gsg 1911. haven't heard much about the gsg 1911 or even seen one yet but has anyone have experience with it or can comment the p22. thanks in advance.

The P22's only real redeeming value to me is it's size. The problem I have is that you aren't going to carry a .22 for defensive purposes and it will mostly be used for target shooting and plinking (presumably). I'd say your money would be better spent on a Ruger or my personal choice, a Browning Buckmark.

Just my .02

.22lr is my new favorite caliber. i have a sw .22a that serves me well like a ruger or buckmark would. i use the 22a for hunting small game. this new gun is just for fun. so range use only. wow i read somewhere the gsg 1911 haven't even been released yet correct me if im wrong but i thought they were released a month ago.

Well I was in the same situation this weekend. I really wanted to pick up a P22 at my local shop, but after reading all the trouble with P22's and talking with a former owner I spent my money on a 22/45 MKIII. I have a S&W Model 41 that use for bullseye, but I wanted a fun .22 range gun as well. My 22/45 was used with 3 mags, box, and factory scope mount for $249.00 ($100 less than the P22). I'm very happy with my decision. It's you hard earned money and if you are set on getting a P22, by all means get one just be aware you could get a better gun for your $$.

Don't believe everything you hear. I have a P22 and love it. Its a lot of fun, and I have 5000+ trouble free CCI Minimags through it. I didn't expect much based on all the negative posts I had seen but I loved the way it shot. I bought it anyway because I hated the way the NEOs felt in my hand. No regrets here. If I had to buy another .22lr, I'd get another P22. No this is not my only firearm, and neither am I new to them. I have other Walther, Kimber and Berrettas too. 1911, steel guns polymers DA/SA and SAO one in each and each calibers all the way to .45; I think that should count for something. :D

The Browning Buckmarks are, in my humble opinion, dollar for dollar the best buy in .22LR pistols on the market today. I own two and have had nothing but good results with both. My 7.25" Contour Lite is sporting a scope and is a great little hunting pistol. My wife has claimed ownership of the Camper model.

the walther is a fine gun, most of the feeding problems are traceable to the ammo used. Use the CCI. I got an Olympic Arms Whitney wolverine and I love it, gotta use hi velocity ammo, bit of a chinese puzzle to fieldstrip and clean, but it's light and fast and most important I can hit stuff with it.

I've found the P22 to be a fun, lightweight, accurate and reliable plinker...and that's what I bought it for.

My 3 sons love shooting it...

I have a P22 for a while now and it has always been a good gun. Only give me problems when I let it get too dirty. I shoot mine suppressed most of the time, and it has run even with subsonics.

i went to the gun shop today and compared the sig mosquito next to the p22. the trigger pull on the sig was horrible until the hammer was cocked. the p22 felt a lot better and smaller than i had pictured. either way i guess i'm settled on the p22 and will be buying it perhaps next week.
