Well, here I go again...
I've got a Beretta 92FS- pre-warning label- that I bought two years ago. It's a nice gun. It shoots with amazing accuracy. The only problem I have with it is that it seems unreliable after 300-400 rounds or so. Every range session or so, I get a failure to feed. I clean the pistol relatively regularly (every 2-3 range sessions). Basically, I consider this unacceptable performance. My only hangup with trading it in was that the Beretta was my first handgun and that when it functions well, it's very accurate.
If I trade in, I'm thinking of trading for a Glock 17 or Glock 34 (I have a Glock 26 and I want the gun to share magazines to cut down on cost). I want a gun that's accurate and that I don't have to clean.
So I guess question #2:
I have a Glock 26 that is relatively accurate for a pistol with a short barrel. How much more accurate is the G17; how about the G34? How are they in comparison to the Beretta 92, which I consider a very accurate pistol?
I was also thinking of sending the gun back to Beretta for a "check up", but I figure that'll cost me in the $200 range, which is money I'd rather put towards a whole new gun. Also, I really don't feel like paying the local FFL transfer fees to get my gun back, as they tend to be upwards of $40...
I'd like to add that when I shake the Beretta, I hear a slight rattle; is this normal? I brought it to a gun shop and they said yes. New Berettas, I've noted, do not have this "rattle".
What say you THR?
