I just couldn't help it. When I saw THE JACK lower by Sharp Bro. I wanted one for a build.

I did some looking around and had a buddy at a local shop order me one for me.
The lower showed up Friday and looks great.

I just got in a M16 M4 Davidson Defence Complete Melonite Nitride bolt carrier group BCG coming in from Delta Team Tactical for $90. They have them on sale right now. Regular price is $221.

Now for the handguard. ????
I really like the look of the Diamondhead V-RS™ "T" 13.5". I have found them listed from $165 to $189.

The barrel I am looking at is a 16" M-4 Profile Stainless Steel 1:8 Polygonal Rifled Barrel 5.56 Chamber by Black Hole Weaponry. That will cost me $265 but it is shipped with a free stripped flat top upper from Surplus Ammo. Plus free shipping.

For the butt stock I'm thinking of going with the ACE Skeleton Stock 9.9" stock, or the ERGO F93 PRO Stock.

Since I am putting in a good bit of money on this build I thought I should make it a little more special.
I'm working out the detales on shipping it off to have the skull part of the lower Cerakoted in bone white.
How cool would that be??

That lower and handguard will make it almost look like a gun from a video game I play. Pretty cool stuff

Check out the SLR rifleworks rails (or any of the countless lightweight keymod deals out there). They cost about the same - I run the SLR ultra lite and really enjoy how slim it is. I just never got into the bloated look of the diamondhead, but that's just me.

Cool lower! An SBR would be slick.

To "honor " the lower, it should have an Alexander 6.5Grendel 18" SS lower (midwayusa). In keeping with (death from a distance!)

Each to their own but I don't think it helps to have a symbol of death on a firearm. It's not what I would want to have presented as evidence in front of a jury. Maybe you just view this gun as a toy but still not what I would want.

"It's not what I would want to have presented as evidence in front of a jury."
Please. As though it'll be the go-to gun; it's far too nice for that, function aside. Might as well suggest we not listen to any similarly "objectionable" music, for fear it would be presented to discredit us in court

As far as the build;
-The handguard is almost there, but it should really be a spine-bone (I'm surprised no one makes a forearm tube of this pattern that I'm aware of, or markets it as superior in modularity to Keymod :D)
-The maker of the lower really needs to get Magpul or China to pump out some plastic mag bodies with a lower jaw/teeth that mates up accordingly. You know, to prevent over-insertion of mags ;)
-One of those tacky flaming-skull or spear-tip muzzle brakes would actually look good here, for a change
-Should totally use the foot from an old biology-demo skeleton as the buttstock

If I was worried about being in front of a jury with this rifle, I would be just as worried about being In front of them with a regular Eivil black rifle. Or the fact that I have eight or nine of them in my house.
Some people just know how to take the fun out of fun.

I know this kind of build is not for everyone. A few years ago I wouldn't have even though of doing something like this. But after building 20 or so ARs in the last year, I felt like it was time to have a little fun.

I'm not going for the skeleton look, more like the pirate look.
I should have the barrel and upper receiver in this weekend .
Still waiting on my buddy to get back to me about the paint. Trying to work out a promotional deal.

I love it. looking forward to pictures of the finished project. Get it done in time for the holidays when family is visiting and you can show it to that annoying "gun control" relative (we all have one, right?)

I don't think it really improves the Mattel® Rifle's pitiful buttstroking ability. Probably wouldn't even leave teeth marks.

If you're really going for the pirate vibe, hang the most outrageous bayonet you can find off the end of it. Maybe an M1917. Since you're doing a custom build, brazing a lug on shouldn't be that hard.

Well Gunny, to each their own. My idea of an AR is what the Marine Corps handed me when they took away my M14 and it didn't look anything like what you have in mind. However, if what you pictured trips your trigger than by all means have at it. Personally, if my dog's face looked like that receiver I would shave his butt and walk him backwards but that is just my taste. :)

It looks comfortable and cool. I was intent on the Diamondhead rail until keymod/Mlok became popular. Looks hand filling like an MOE.

I like where this is going. Could care less of the skull mag well

I plan on building an A1 clone, just trying to find an orinigal upper that is not over priced.
I already built an A2 clone.

How about a Spartan AR?

I saved some money on this build. :D
Last week a friend told me that he might have a new black Ergo buttstock and grip sitting in his extra parts.
When I showed up to work today he had it with him. I asked what he wanted for them and he said $60. That saved me about $100.

I could live with plain. :) I guess some of us are just destined for plain. Hell. my favorite AR rifles? Yep, a pair of Colt SP1 rifles from the mid 70s. :)
However, this is indeed America and to each their own. Heck, yiou don't even need CMC approval or Chesty Puller (wherever he is) approval. :)
