You don't have to hire or train anyone. There are plenty of private security contractors around. Set a working protocol, tender for bids, and sign a contract.It would require hiring and training of professional security people for each school. One could turn to security contractors, but the price would be high and most are probably already on duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where are they going to get the funds when everybody wants a tax break? Obviously it's impractical for our teachers to raise, educate and protect our kids against armed terrorists. If some agree there would have to be substantial salary jump because they would be doing two jobs at once. Frankly the only option open to politicians is to reduce easy access to firearms and that is where most will eventually go.
