What is your best and fastest to clean your shotgun? I know this is a setup question but, I'm used to rifles and pistols.

I think Hoppes #9 on a mop, let sit for a few minutes, run the brush through a bunch of times, some patches with #9, then dry patches til clean then oil. Same with the chokes too.

I use a cordless drill with a shotgun rod chucked in it and topped with a bronze brush with Hoppes #9. Follow with a mop, and call it done.

Wipe the outside down with a motor oil impregnated cloth, open gun case, sit inside, close door.

You're wasting your time and money scrubbing and deleading the barrel every time. Once a year or so is more than enough.

run a bore snake through it and rub an oil rag (break free) down the stock and barrel after each use... will take all of 2 minutes and no worries...

Try Kroil

Than after it's all clean , let the Kroil soak into the barrel . Then lightly oil over the Kroil.

Run a patch down the barrel to get the excessive combo (Kroil , oil ) out before going shooting the next time. See how much easier it is to clean the next time . The Kroil kinda acts like a teflon finish on a frying pan because it soaks into the metal.

I'LL just mention what not to do.....
Don't spray the mag tube of an autoloader (1100) with WD40 or other aerosol spray. It will gum up the works. Esp in cold weather.
You'll fimd yourself hunting w/ a single shot.

For the barrels, brake cleaner works well and evaporates quickly. Using a brush with a patch wrapped around it in a cordless drill, it cleans in a minute

Tornado brush to get out plastic wad & lead fouling.
Followed by oiled & clean patches on a wool mop.

rbernie's #2 post drill trick is also very fast & good.
