So, here I am browsing Gunbroker last night (you know, after that promise of no more guns until 2005, all we can do is window-shop), and I come across a couple of MAS', one chambered in .308. It looked sweet, and Cslinger thought it was pretty cool, too and he said he'd never seen one in .308.

So, today we go to the Reloader's Bench to pick up the mags for the P7 that he ordered, I am browsing the rifles and what is the first one staring right at me? The MAS in .308. A really really nice one. Can you believe it? Cslinger says, you know, it's God's sign. Seriously, what are the chances? I had never before seen one for real and I just looked at them for the first time last night.

They were working me hard. One guy takes out the yellow form and the ink pad and puts it on the counter "just in case". I said, sorry, I am not buying a gun today. They were heartbroken.

Oh, well. I did not give in this time but our neighbor is selling his Beretta 96D for a really good price and Cslinger has already made a comment that he made a promise but I did not...

Thank gawd y'all have come back to your senses; that whole "December 2004" thing had me worried, there. :relievedsmilie:

;)

from everything i've heard, the MAS rifles in .308 are crap! Centruy's angry beavers did a supreme job of rechambering them... with predictable results.

Isn't Reloaders kinda high on things? Unless I've read the prices wrong the couple of times I've stopped in there... but then, I don't reload. Perhaps their prices on that type of merchandise are good. I have nothing to compare that to.

The next line from the guy behind the counter is, "Would you like to hold it, just to see what it feels like?"

If you answer in the affirmative, you're toast.

Stick with the MAS in 7.5! Graf is making brass for it and ammo is starting to become available for it. You can also get reloading dies as I did!

By the way we have ways of making you come back to buy a gun. It is just like being a kid in a candy store. We know you are addicted and are going to have to buy something eventually. Buy something, resistance is futile!:D

"Let's not get ahead of ourselves. My job is first to find the gun that fits you just right so you have what you want. Then we can talk about the price if you're not happy with it. Now, this is a . . . ."
