pcf - both MG and DD, but registered as only MG, AFAIK.

As to making one - if you were to file a form 1 and make a new DD, make it SA only, then you could actually build it. :D

Both an MG and a DD, probably.

Why are there like-new parts kits for these things floating around? Aren't kits usually from wepaons that have been outmoded and replaced in service, like 1919's?

Let's see, $11k for beaten up parts, or $4.5k for brand-new-inbox? Lemme think on that one for a little while..

Theoretically, wouldn’t you need both a Class III machine-gun AND a Class IV explosives permit to own one of these? I know you could make it into a semi-auto but… What would be the fun in that? Neat looking firearm... Perfect Christmas or Birthday gift for the youngsters! Screw burning ants with a magnifying glass, shoot cars with a MK19! :D

Evil Monkey:You are wrong. HK doesn't make Mk19 GMG.

I was about to call you out on this one, but you're right.

From http://www.hkpro.com/gmg.htm :
"Though perhaps not widely known, Heckler & Koch manufactures a 40mm grenade machine gun. It is simply called the GMG. (Granat Maschinengewehr) This high impulse 40mm grenade launcher is a direct competitor to the Mark 19, currently in service with the U.S. military."

know you could make it into a semi-auto but… What would be the fun in that?
Bump-firing.
