This is why pistol grips on a shotgun don't work...

Thank you for the warning. I am at work. A lot of people are not so considerate, so believe me, it is appreciated.

Pistol grips on a shotgun work fine, the moron pulling the trigger in that video could use some work though

I think my favorite part is how he turned and double checked to make sure the camera was rolling. As if somehow this was going to be some awesome display of manly shotgun handling.

People like this are why my dentist drives a mercedes.

LOL yeah.

Whadda ya mean? That guy is obviously an Operator....You can tell by his vest and all the cool stuff on his belt....It's gotta be a problem with the shotgun.

Well duh, what did he think was going to happen? I'm sure pistol grips are fine on a gun with a buttstock, other than their compressed size I'm not sure why anyone would want a shotgun without.

I thought those were the last words spoken by dumbsh*t"s worldwide

I love my 12 gauge "pistol". I just cannot understand why people try to shoot these things from anywhere but the hip. :banghead:

Shooting from the hip and removing door locks/hinges is all a pistol grip shotgun is really good for.

That said, I'm probably goin' ta hell for laughing at these kind of videos. :neener:

I always thought that scatterguns with no stock were meant to shoot from the hip,

The small arms locker on my first ship had Rem. 870 pumps with PG and underfolders which we issued to the top side sentry for "repel borders" purposes.

We were trained to always shoot from the hip when deploying the weapon with the stock folded.

You can cycle through a full tube mag and send a LOT of buck shot down your general line of fire in short order, and we always managed to thorougly shred the targets

Great training! the key is to start aiming low and as the muzzle climbs (which it will) you spray your objective from bottom to top.

A real hoot! Always the crews favorite part of proficiency quals.

It would have helped if he'd had a good hold on the fore end, rather than treating it in the same way as a fully stocked gun.
I guess he thought he was shooting skeet......

I have tried aiming a pistol grip shotgun shooting slugs. Out of twenty some shots I had two when my left hand slipped and I ended with a bloody lip.
So aimed fire with a pistol grip shotgun can be painful but
it can be done.
Firm grip pushing forward on the forearm, elbows crooked to allow the arms to move and absorb recoil, and the gun held out far enough that it wont hit your face if it does slip.

wow... deja vu..

Deputy Sheriff at qualification was looking at my Mossberg 500 that I had the pistol grip and 18 1/4 barrel on. He asked if he could shoot it. Told him sure.. take off..

I looked up in time to see him on the firing line holding the shotgun the exact same way.. before I could holler out to him, he pulled the trigger and busted his lip and broke a tooth..

Kudo's, he didn't drop my shotgun... But he didn't ask to shoot it again..

I don't understand how that could have happened. He looks like an "Operator" with the vest, canteen, etc... He probably would do just fine with his modified 10/22 assault rifle.

Had an acquaintance try the same thing with my Mossy 500 with the stock folded. Fired a slug and got smacked good. Saw me do it (not advocating but it can be done) and thought he'd give it a try. Told him to hold it hard but hard is subjective.
