This made me go..........Hmmmm...

I’ve been saving pennies for a labradar. I’m thinking I may go for this instead. Probably wait a little and see how they do. If it’s good as it sounds…
After looking at the videos, it sure seems even easier than the Labradar to use, and much more compact. When he tested it simultaneously with the Magnetospeed, the readings were extremely close. One advantage is the user doesn’t have to go thru the complete setup on each firearm to use it, just point it in the direction and select your parameters. If I was in the immediate market for a chrono, I wouldn’t hesitate pulling the trigger on this….!!

Wonder how it works on indoor ranges. Anyone know before I research it?
From the owner's manual: "Always ensure the projectile can travel at least 20 meters or 20 yards in front of the chronograph."

ETA: FWIW, Magnetospeed with their Picatinny rail adapter works well at any distance on pistols with Pic rails.

I like it's small size and what seems to be more flexible capabilities...cute that it comes with it's own compact tripod too. I've been longing for a Labradar, but this has certainly peaked my interest.

Considering that it is a Garmin, I'm thinking there will be a discount to a "street price". I can also see this affecting the price of Labradar also...now that there is some competition

There will probably be some used Labradars coming on the market soon. Keep an eye on the Trading Post forum.

Welp, I almost got one from Bass Pro earlier today when they had stock to ship. They're all sold out now.

So I placed an order direct with Garmin. Says will be 5-8 weeks to ship though so I won't see it until mid November if that holds true. If nobody else reports on one before then I'll be sure to make a post about it.

Sadly the app that pairs with it requires an operating system level my current phone doesn't support so no app for me unless I get a new phone, but I'm probably due for something more current anyway. But that's a future me problem.

Area 419's website says they expect more around November 5th or so but they're not taking backorders, just "look out around then and get one" sort of deal.

I'm pretty content to just wait til it can ship directly from Garmin though, but I may not have it as soon as others.

I’m sorry to have to break this to you but this is the 20th of October. Exactly 5 weeks from today is November 24th, not mid November.

Thanks since most of my handgun shooting is at indoors ranges. My chrono doesn't work with their lighting and they do not allow them for safety reason, chrono has to be set up beyond red line. This seems like a good solution for me.

I watch 3-4 gun forums classifieds, daily and have been on the hunt for a Labradar.
I've seen more pop up in the last 3 days than the last 3 weeks combined.
This explains why and now I want the Garmin.
Just when I thought I was going to save a couple hundred bucks. 🤷‍♂️

I've seen the shotgunning version, it tended to tell several shooters the bulk of their pattern was down and to the left, even when visual evidence indicated otherwise.
