So I posted a month or so about my 870 tactical that I thought I had fixed but then the problem came back. Basically the sixth round wouldn't go in the tube, not all the time but enough to cause me worry. Tried multiple fixes, two trips to Remington, different assembly procedures, new follower etc.
Well I ordered the Wilson Combat mag extension, which comes with a new spring and follower. 100 loading operations and ZERO issues. Test fired 30 rounds, no issues. I think the factory installed extension was out of whack somehow. I never found any visible issues and God knows I have had it apart 10,000 freaking times looking for one. But clearly something was wrong. The Wilson works like a champ and I swear it seems easier to load but maybe that's my head. Anyway I finally have a fully functioning gun and a complete one. Magpul stock and forend, Surefire light, Wilson oversized safety, Side saddle, XS big dot. Think my HD setup is completely finished.
I would recommend Wilson if you are looking for an extension.
