A check of the FS forum will reveil an almost new ithaca 37. 3 inch chamber, smooth bore rifle sited barrel threaded for chokes, 3 chokes included (one x-full, one hevi-shot x-full and one improved cylinder) with a Leupold 1-4X shotgun scope mounted in leupold quick detach rings. All for $300
HMM......
New ithaca: $500+
Leupold scope $260 at SWFA
Extra chokes plus rings and bases: $50+
Somebody on the high road musta been sleeping cause it looks like I'm getting a new deer/turkey/coyote gun come saturday night.
But I do have two question:
1. Should I feel guilty because this is a absolute steal?
2. I will now have 3 Ithacas and 5 barrels to fit them- should I be concerned that my collection is getting lop sided?
Oh, well....I guess when the price is right you gotta buy. I'll post a report on shot it groups slugs and patterns heavy shot dead coyote loads when I get it and get the time.
Oh, I am thinking of pinning the barrel to the upmost accurracy when shooting slugs as this will probably be a dedicated gun that never sees the wing shooting fields or the clays range. Any thoughts on this?
Thanks.
Matt
P.S. Guess that 870 I've been thinking about and the Benelli M2 I am drooling over is going to have to wait.
