First time I have dealt with TC regarding my Encore. I didn't like the trigger pull (which really wasn't too bad, but not target grade). Wanted a three pound crisp break. I had a couple of internet gunsmiths deal with it and it is now about a pound and a half - way too soft for a hunting rifle. Called TC, which I didn't know was a division of S & W, explained that it had been extensively "messed with" and wanted it returned to factory specs; they are sending a prepaid shipping label; turnaround is approx 4 weeks; and no mention of any charges. Say what you will, S & W/ Thompson-Center is a first rate operation which I will continue to support...

My turn. Bought a 44 mag (hot shot) barrel from a friend. Missing the choke(external). Emailed TC with an inquiry about the availability of a replacement choke. Got an almost immediate acknowledgement of my inquiry. Another followed a day or so later stating that the inquiry was forwarded to the "appropriate" department. Not a word since. That was eight months ago. I'm going unbroken and ebay.
They're getting another chance. Buddy has a 25 S&W that was messed up in our Nov 17 hurricane. I'm sending Smith a letter and pic of the damages and see what they'll do. Rear sight gone, cylinder retaining screw gone. I'll do the polish and doing repair. Wanna bet. They blow me off?

PapaG:

Sorry to read that. It's not right. I have found it is beneficial to advise a company that I have created a public thread in Rating Transactions (public and private). Then, I send them an email with the thread's link and a copy of the original post. I invite the company to make updates for me right in the thread so others can witness their company's excellent commitment to the customer. I usually have ended up posting their responses myself. T/C Arms has been excellent to me, but no company is perfect.

I dealt with TC when my Dimension was recalled. I'd say they were satisfactory (which is good considering how overloaded they must have been with Dimension and Venture related recalls at that time). Firearms seems like one of the last remaining products where you consistently get good customer service, it must be because the customers demand it.

I broke a bolt on a TC muzzle loader. Called them up and they sent it to me no charge.

Had to send two tc ventures in on recall. Had them back in a few weeks.

They've been good to deal w/ in my limited experience.
