Those asking for advice on which handgun to carry or how to carry

People get bored trying to determine the 9mm versus 45acp question once and for all. :)

I belong to a forum that had a 100 page thread once regarding whether electrical receptacles should be installed ground pin up or down.

The real answer is the electrical code does not state an orientation at all and it really makes no difference. But still went on for 100 + pages.

I don't think it matters much what gun you carry if you decide to carry one as long as you do so in a safe way.

I have received some good advice when posting the occasional request for opinions.

I now pocket carry in the front pocket sometimes, after hearing from so many members who do.

Never found a semiauto I liked to carry much until members recommended the Kahrs. Now I have one in every caliber for times when a revolver isn't best.

Members have informed me about good deals on ammo, alternate versions or clones of a pistol I was interested in, the best places to get grips and/or mags for it, etc.

I'm glad to be able to ask for advice and get so many friendly and useful answers. :)

The carry questions could stim from someone getting that little creampuff all the rage carry piece and a holster and afterwards the person finding out that carrying is not as simple as they think. IMO that is where most of those come from but sometimes it's all about show and tell and finding common ground or just fitting in.

That and it may be easier to discuss with strangers that may not know who you are and which house you may live in also rather than with the guy across the street that you may not want to know you carry or even have a firearm for that matter.

Lots of times the guys down at the LGS will help people but many just want money and take advantage of those that don't know any better. Finding the right holster is a headach also - there is alot of pooh on the market that really doesn't work well or is safe.

Can be lots of reasons IMO. Just a few thoughts.
