After finding 22lr ammo at a local store and even able to buy some small pistol primers two weeks ago it appeared that the ammo and related item shortage was over, at least here in the Midwest. I was in Gander Mountain yesterday and I guess I was wrong. All of the 22lr ammo was gone, and the gun department manager admitted he was stunned since they had received a large shipment just days before (when I bought two bricks) but that a few people bought huge quantities leaving them without any right now. Plus I saw they had a shelf marked "Self Defense Ammo" with things like Speer 40S&W box of 25 going for $35! I guess the panic is still with us.

The Gander is wiped out in Kansas too. In fact I went in there yesterday and apparently there was a run on .40 and .45. The week before they had ton's of each and now is very slim pickings.

Given the number of new gun owners since The Presidents first term and the surge after his reelection and Sandy Hook what does one expect to happen. After all the increasing call to abridge the Second Amendment Rights of American Citizens is going to have a singular impact and that is everything gun related will disappear from the gun shop shelf. And guess what? That is exactly what has happened. It will remain so until the threats directed at the Bill of Rights is done away with.

They are not limiting sales and letting the first guy there buy it all? That will piss off customers.

I talked to a guy at Gander last week and he said their store was putting a three box limit to try and keep LGS guys from buying and jacking the price in their stores. Apparently they do not have a company three box limit.

Over? There's still people waiting outside Academy at 2-3am in the cold. Got to Academy at 4:22am and there was already 3 people waiting.

I haven't been able to find any CCI Mini-Mags anywhere. And (unfortunately), the .22LR camp is where I'm really short. I've got enough centerfire stuff to keep me going for a while, but I've only got enough .22LR for one more range trip. :(

That's funny, because the GM here is the one who has overpriced the goods - and has - since the day they opened a few years ago. They have been at MSRP +155 on all goods in the store

Their "sale" prices mean the prices are back at full MSRP

Got to agree with "Queen." When you threaten people they will react. Simple as that.
I guess the Boy Scouts were right! "Be Prepared."
