I've shot it twice this week, once at 50 yards, another at 10-15 yards. At 50, I was having issues with the trigger, it wasn't breaking where I was expecting and I'll have to blame that on the longer grip. So, I didn't shoot it well that day, even when I tried .40 in it.

The second time I decided I'd shoot at closer targets and at 10-15 yards with .40 only, the thing felt like shooting a .380 in that there was so little recoil. The heavy slide and the heavier 10mm spring slowed the slide down so much that it felt like shooting a Hi Point!

I have to try again on the steel plates at 10-15 with 10mm and see how it feels when the targets are closer, but after feeling like I made the wrong choice, I'm loving this gun now more than ever.

I was thinking 40 vs 20, not 10mm. I have 20/20 vision and I struggle to shoot at 50 yards with target sights. I really want to put a red dot on my kimber 10mm to take advantage of the 10mm. I'm an idiot, feel free to carry on.

Glocks are combat pistols. Their triggers are light and crisp enough for combat accuracy. But there are better options for target pistols. A 10-15 yards I don't shoot anything significantly better than a Glock. Yea, my 1911's with better triggers will group a little better, but not enough to make a difference at those ranges. But as range increases the difference does show up.

I have the first version of the 40.....a 20 with a lonewolf longslide on it.

I regularly shoot .40 out of it with the 10mm barrel and it’s a real pussy cat like you stated. So much so I rarely shoot 10mm out of it much anymore. I weep when I lose my 10mm Starline brass. Could care less about lost .40 cases.

I've done well at 50 with the G35 with the .40 and a 9mm Lone Wolf barrel, so the Glocks can be good at 50. It didn't help me that the sights were off on the 10mm Glock and I didn't know they gave me a little screwdriver until after I got home. Once I get the sights on I'll have to re-evaluate. It did put to bed my ideas of the G40 being a 100 yard capable pistol.

I use a 3lb connector on all my Glocks. Makes a big difference. I've shot the 10mm 20/29 and a 6 inch kkm 20 for 20 years. Mostly using .40 for practice and handloads for hunting. I used to carry one (29) with Silvertips but at that time there weren't but one or two options. I have killed many deer between 50 and 100 yards. The gun is plenty capable. Personally I find the sights to be the limiting factor. Not the trigger.

then just keep pullin the durn trigger when the front sight is circling your aim point. also, follow through is important at fifty yards (at all yards, but makes a big difference out there).

luck,
