So what should this war be called?
Moslem /Freeworld War of 2001-20??
Islamic / Democratic Powers War of 2001-20??
Islamic Jihad Uprising of 2001-20??

No matter, I don't think the powers that be will let it be fought to win it unconditionally.

Lets say they did allow us to fight and win it unconditionally. When would we be able to say we had won?

With Japan and Germany it was easy to tell when things were over. Cities were captured, treaties were signed.

How do we tell when the WOT is over?

When the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 and East Germany was finally pacified? Now you might argue that we were really facing the Russians, but those were Germans over there pointing guns at the folks in Berlin.

When most of their numbers are dead.
Peaceful Moslems adopt a revised text that is respectful and tolerant of other religions. Strict laws would be enforced to teach or otherwise follow the old text.

Well, let's see.... we had WW1 and WW2... I'll pick "World Mistake 17,656."

Hafta edit to give you a link to the likely result of a pullout.

Now, realize that we WILL leave. And when we do, chaos will reign again. Nature of the beast. Nobody, it seems, seems to know anything about the middle east. Or....they ignore every "KEEP OUT" sign known to man.

You've won when the ideas you fought against are historical curiosities, obscure footnotes.

The ideas behind the Berlin Wall are alive and well, right here in the US of A. Let's not delude ourselves.

A lot of what is going on in the world today is just as gentleman's game being played by our State Department.

Who do you want to profile? Arabs or Muslims? Arabs are only 12% of the American Muslim population. About the same as WORLDWIDE. 75% of American Arabs are Christian. 48% of Muslims are Black. 26% are Asian. Those guys with the turbans? They are Sihks. Not a Muslim reigion. Who gets profiled?

I thought the idea behind the Berlin Wall was to keep the folks on the East side from leaving the country.

Isn't the idea of walling off our southern border to keep folks from sneaking in and not out?

Or maybe you're referring to some other idea, or ideas, completely removed from the physical aspects of a wall.
