Hey guys.
My fiance's son has expressed an interest in firearms (I own quite a few and am working on talking his mother into carrying concealed), so I want to get him a decent .22 handgun. I know that there are way too many good ones out there to try and do a comparison, and I really like the look of the Browning 1911-22... but I want something I'll enjoy playing with too, and the idea of putting a suppressor on a 22 for backyard plinking sounds really fun.
So my research led me to the Ruger 22/45 - threaded barrel, Ruger reliability. But I really like that Browning 1911-22. Are my chances of finding some sort of drop-in aftermarket threaded barrel that will fit in the 1911-22 realistic, or should I just settle for the Ruger?
