Okay all you AR-15 fans...a few questions please...
Is a threaded barrel less accurate than an ordinary crowned barrel (I suspect this is the case)? If so, is this difference significant?
Does a flash hider increase how loud the weapon is to the user? Is it quieter? I've searched some old posts here and they seem mostly concerned with flash suppressors' effect on recoil, but not on muzzle blast.
Is a crowned barrel without a flash hider more vulnerable to wear and tear than a threaded barrel WITH a flash hider?
Can you really use an AR-15 to bayonet things?
===============================
The reason I ask is that, ironically, I might want to get an AR-15 BEFORE the AWB sunsets. If the crowned barrel is more accurate, and the bayonet lug is essentially useless, and the flash suppressor makes the weapon significantly louder, a post-ban AR-15 might serve me better than a pre-ban/post-sunset one. Any thoughts?
