During this week my house was broken into THREE times. First time last thursday around noon nothing was taken and nobody was at home. Second time I was home in the shop that is part of the house but not connected by an inside door and my family was inside watching a movie and heard some one up stairs and by time they noticed and looked around the person was gone. Yesterday i got home around 6 fired up the bbq heard something and it turns out it was somebody running out of the house nothing was ever stolen which makes no sense to me and nobody was hurt so im lost as far as what is going on with the person who keeps breaking in. Is he some random crazy I havent yet gone to authorities though I probably should just looking for some advice as far as what to do and if anyone has experienced something like this before. Thanks

Maybe it's haunted (not kidding).

I SAW a ghost 2 years ago with these own two eyes and it changed my belief in that kind of thing.

But lock up and pack heat anyway. If it is the living, the knucklehead probably lives very close to you. Neighbor or neighbor's kid. School just let out.

I'd worry more about local teens messing with you than a ghost. Might be some sort of ongoing prank because your house is obviously so easy to get into.

You have a "shop" so you must be handy. Time to upgrade the locks to your home. New doors and windows possibly.

Get a dog if you can.

Haunted house actually came to mind for me also, and I'm not kidding either.

But in ANY case, calm down and think rationally. It is going to be difficult to do because of the situation where you cannot identify a motive for these break ins. Don't assume any motivation at all. Just deal with facts, that someone is breaking into your house. Figure out how and where, and take measures to prevent it from happening again.

Sounds like teens. There was/is a game (I forgot the name) that teens and very young adults would play by entering someone's property. They would usually hide behind a bush, wait for the occupants to leave and enter the home by breaking-in or getting into the garage before the door closed. They would video their actions so they can show it to thier friends later. I guess it is more exciting (and dangerous) to do it when the occupants are home.

Do you have electricity? If not, maybe it is a local squatter who thinks your house is abandoned?

Either way, weird situation!

ghosts

well I am in no way concerned about ghosts nor do I believe my house could possibly be haunted the problem is I do lock my doors and windows I also have an alarm system that reacts to doors windows and motion sensors the problem is those are getting turned off and some how voided

Are they breaking through locked doors and windows? How are they getting in? It seems to me the first step is to secure the entry points and keep them secured. If you're not doing that then all the firepower in the world may not help you.

So how is this person getting in? If the doors and windows are locked, and they're not breaking through, then there must be some other point of entry you haven't secured.

thats what im trying to figure out it makes no sense as for the neighbors im not to worried i live in a jewish neighbor hood and half of the people in the neighbor hood are so old they have trouble walking let alone breaking in to the house so i dont think the neighbors are in on it or at least i would not expect it they are all nice and very polite religous folk.

the CountG get it right.....a couple of hunter's cameras and if ua cant have a dog, get a crunch bird. locking up makes sense also.

well...

Couple of questions...

If you have an alarm, and lock the windows and doors, could the person be someone who has a key, like a neighbor? Maybe the kid got the key?

Could it be sexual in nature? some kid fixated on a daughter or wife?

if ua cant have a dog, get a crunch bird

What the heck is a Crunch Bird? and do they taste like chicken or breakfast cereal?

Ninja or ghost. Ghost is more believable than ninja.

Unless Gecko45 has your home address in his tactical rolodex.

Well that's just weird. It's almost hard to call it a breakin if there's no sign of forced entry. Are you sure this isn't someone a household member has let in?

I don't know, other than nailing windows shut or sprinkling flour around next to them so you can at least find the entry point.

You may have a ninja infestation!

well I did some looking around and found out what was going on the person broke in to the garden shed and then kicked out the wall in there that goes to the basement kitchen that never gets used do i have no idea how long its been going on the first two photos are from the inside of the old kitchen the next two are of the door and jam and the final one is the enterance. this is why the alarm never went off and why windows and doors werent used. All i want to know is what the **** im supposed to do to stop people from just tearing the house apart this seriously aggravates the hell out of me.

If I were you....

1) I'd fortify the entry point with something more substantial than a flimsy wood panel.

2) I would install a motion detector in the room on the other side of the entry point.

3) I would definitely arm myself. Burglars tend to get bolder as they become more comfortable entering another's home by force. The next time he comes, he may venture into the interior of the house, and may introduce himself to your family members.

If not burglar, it may be someone looking for a place to sleep at night. Could have been in your home for longer than you realize.

You need to up-armor your house, especially the places not travelled. Reinforce & bolt those unused openings.

Hmmm the prior resident not so sure of due to him commiting suicide although about a month ago a couple fellows showed up saying there from Portland Oregon and were related to the man that used to live here i let them look around the yard and at the outside of the house but when they asked to go inside I said no I was getting ready to leave I figured that was the nicest way to say stay the hell out perhaps theres something in the house i dont know about and there after it but that seems to muck like a movie Ive seen
