1. Are Promag brand magazines any good? Specifically, I am looking at getting some 6rd Promag Ruger LCP magazines.

2. Who has the best deal on Glock 30 10rd magazines?

3. Who has the best deal on Beretta 96 11rd magazines? Thank you!

I had some ProMag magazines work well and others displayed problems. They would not be my first choice.

Twice I tried Pro Mags and both times they were junk. Either they didn't feed correctly or they were way too tight, fit-wise.

If you do buy any, don't ram them home with enthusiasm; go gently the first time. Some of mine were too large and the first one I tried got stuck solidly in the mag well. It went 3/4 of the way in but I couldn't get it back out. I thought I was going to need vice-grips but I didn't want to damage it so I could return it. I got a friend of mine to use his superhuman, truck mechanic's fingers to grab the mag while I pulled on the gun.

Pro Mag bites it, sine qua non. Never again!

Note: My two purchases were for completely different guns 2 years apart so I know the crap quality wasn't due to a single bad run at the factory. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

The only after market (non-factory) mags that I will use in a handgun are MecGar mags. They are great mags, and are extremely reliable.

win some, lose some

To be fair, I've had some Promags work, but many others that didn't. When I spread the cost over the total number of mags purchased, the "cost savings" just isn't there. And I don't get paid for the aggravation. There was another brand called "USA" that I don't see much around, anymore, these would fall into the same category as Promag, per my experience.

On the other hand, I've had good experience with ACT, MecGar and Metalform mags.

Yesterday's "best deal" may not be today's. One has to constantly research. My last buy was from a poster selling used factory mags. At the right price, these can't be beat.
