Tikka t3x lite stainless

I bought a left handed Stainless T3 Lite in 7-08 for my Wife to Deer hunt with and it never got any farther than the range with it as it kicked too much according to her. It had more recoil in my judgement but wasn't bad. It was superbly accurate. Most people say Hornady Black is very accurate but in that rifle it wasn't nothing spectacular. I liked the rifle but as she didn't like it and I'm a righty it went down the road.

I'm looking at possibly getting one of these and was considering .300 win mag.

Other options were Savage 110, Weatherby Vanguard, Winchester 70, Browning.

More research but I do like the T3x

300 Win mag with a Tikka will be a pretty real recoil. Some other rifles would be a little better in that regard.
Could be remedied with a 1.25" Micro Cell pad. Maybe some weight in the stock

At one time I had a Tikka in 30-06. Put a Limbsaver recoil pad on it and recoil reduced to 243 levels. When the T3 1st came out they were pretty light compared to most other options. But today there are a lot of options that weigh similar. But if I were going to a 300 WM I'd put a Limbsaver, or similar hi-tech pad on it before I ever fired it.

I'd also think hard about whether or not I really needed a 300 WM. Todays better bullets, loads, and optics mean rounds with 1/2 the recoil are doing some pretty amazing things. There are guys killing elk at 1/2 mile with 243's. H&H Hunter, a moderator here, has taken 2 elk in recent years at over 500, almost 600 with his 308. Write up here on the most recent one.
