I'm a lefty but can use the gun w/the right. I practice shooting with the non-dominant hand on a regular basis. It's good in case something happens to the dominant hand.
Left. There are only a few things that bother me about that...like all those old mil-surp rifles I didn't buy in my early teens (when they were cheap).
Mark.
Right handed for pistols, left for shoulder arms...I'm left eye dominant but right handed. It's difficult for me to force myself to aim with my right eye, so I'm learning to shoot leftie with rifles and shotguns.
I'm a Southpaw that can shoot right-handed quite well.
(When I'm shooting at long ranges, I actually shoot better with my right hand. It might have something to do with the fact that I'm right eye dominant. *shrug*)
Voted "Ambi''. I am a tad faster shooting drills with my right hand and a tad more accurate with slow aimed fire using my left hand. Shooting right handed I use my right eye, shooting lefty I use my left eye. I am right eye dominant but only slightly, I can easily shift dominance to my left eye.
Equally ambidextrous with a rifle too. Wingshooting left handed is pretty poor though, I need to work on that.
Ambi, I do prefer to use the right hand for shooting however. For some reason I have things that I prefer to do with each hand. I prefer to use a fork or a pencil with my left hand, while I prefer to use a hammer with my right.
So am I. I tried shooting a long arm right handed and didnt do very well. The fact that it was the first time I fired a machinegun (MP5) probably didnt help matters much.
One of the regulars said it threw brass in his face which is why I was shooting righty, but I havent had a problem after getting fed up with my eyes and going to the left hand with it.
I usually go righty, but was trained to be bi. I still practice, and often shoot better, with my lefty. I figue my left side must be more open minded and less macho than my right ...
