My friend recently completed an 18 inch SPR build. I shot it and had a ton of fun. Now I want to build one it's going to be a precesion build. I was wondering if I should get a matching set for my stripped lower and upper receiver or get my upper and lower differently. Will it have much of an impact if I do or don't?

I always get wobble with mix and match parts. I use a accurizer and it takes most of the slop out. It probably doesnt matter much unless you get shift as you are pulling the trigger. If you can get a matched set and it doesnt cost much more it is worth it.

I got a matched billet set for my last build. I was amazed at the fit. Even after dozens of take downs, the set is still very tight. Funny thing, it is for a SBR. It would make for a great precision build. For most ARs the wobble is a non factor. If you are shooting precision past 400 yards, it might make a difference.

If you're building with high end parts the fit should be fine. My match set has the adjustment screw. If you want to build with a non match set, just look for a lower with the adjustment screw. Seekins billet, Mega billet, Ranier Arms forged, lowers have the upper tension screw.
