I just installed a new Timney trigger on my Remington 700. Everything went smoothly, but the bolt release linkage sticks. I tried backing out the screw retaining the linkage, but then it pops out of the channel. Once I tighten it so it stays, it sticks again. It works, but I have to pull it (the bolt release tab by the trigger once assembled) down after releasing the bolt. I searched around on the web, and it appears others have had this problem. I didn't find any fixes though. Is this something I just have to live with? I love the trigger. Just seems like this shouldn't be an issue.

Try lubing the bolt stop the spring touches. I've had success stopping the sticking by taking that piece out, cleaning, and lubing it. Also does it stick when it's out of the stock? Could also be a clearance issue on the stock itself. I've had factory releases that stick too. Usually a blast of Rem oil and blow out with air fixes it.

Horsemany, thanks for the reply. I did try degreasing and lubing it. Still stuck even outside of stock.

I actually had a gunsmith take a look at it and adjust the trigger. He said the bolt release linkage was bent, so he reshaped and it's working great now. It looked straight to me, but that's why I'm not a gunsmith!

By the way, anyone looking for gunsmith work in the VA/WV area should try EFI, LLC. Great work and fast turnaround.
