Tisas 2011 pistols

I saw this in a couple of other Shot show videos. I'm interested in seeing it in person for the price point (sub $1,000 MSRP).

I picked up a Springfield Prodigy 4.25 a couple months ago and have put 1500 rounds through it so far. I am really liking the platform! If the Tisas is on par, it would make a great base gun to upgrade.

Look like Tisas is getting ready to rock the 2011 world …
Nope. Polymer-framed double-stack 1911s don't always "rock the 2011 world." Recognizing that Tisas is a current internet darling with its single-stack 1911s, let's just wait a minute and stop being so obsessed about price point for what we think we want.

And then there are always those who desire their 1911-style pistols in .45 ACP rather than 9mm, which is accommodated in only a few hundred other pistols.

I like my 1911’s as close as GI as I can .. Im pretty much happy with fullsize and compact striker fired pistols … took awhile for me to switch from
Ruger P series to striker fired .. but I bought my first striker fired pistol in 2001or 2002 .. a
HS-2000 , now known as a XD …
I really don’t see getting into the 2011 stuff .. unless I purchase one for a range piece.. knowing it is going to be traded …or maybe rent one at the range .. for a test run

Didn't Rock Island offer one in 9mm/22TCM for like $600? Been a couple years, but I could have sworn the cheap, import double stack 2011-ish waters had been tested...
But I'm still interested if it's significantly cheaper than a Prodigy, which I've seen for just under $1100.
Or you could be real radical and shoot a stock gun.
Doesn't sound very entertaining.

Tisas is not connected to RIA .. Tisas is a Turkish company and RIA is a Brazilian company

Springfield out sources some of there 1911 frames from a Brazilian company.. maybe Armscor ( who is RIA)
Springfield also has their XD , Hellcats & Echelon made in Croatia

Honestly if I was doing a step up on a 1911 , I’d step over Springfield ..
But as I mentioned. I like my 1911’s as close as GI as I can get . And Tisas or RIA would be my choice.

Personally.. Im not really looking into getting in the 2011 platform… alot of shooters are giving the 2011 platform consideration.. and can’t afford to pay what most manufacturers are charging… so it will be a affordable option for two type of consumers

#1 those who are really wanting to get into the 2011 platform and have limited cash flow

#2 Those who want to test the waters .

Im really neither… I may rent one … and blast it for a hour and see what I think..

I like my 1911’s GI style.. and 45 ..

I like my high capacity 9mm’s Polymer and striker fired ..

It makes me think what makes other production guns like staccato so much more expensive? Can’t wait to get my hands on a P or C2 and try it out, but this looks like a banger deal for under $1000.

Sure they are. Yes they're different companies in different countries...but they're connected by competing in the same market for the same customers. Very similar products at similar price point. I've never owned either brand though and can't afford $4K guns, but I do like 1911's that are a bit more refined.

I have 5 high capacity 1911/2011.
The Dan Wesson DWX compact is by far my favorite. Even beating out my Wilson Combat EDC X9 Experior.
The other three are a Springfield Prodigy, a Rock Island Ultra Tac and a EAA Girsan Witness (around $800) which is pretty bad feeling, running and needs work.

When good magazines cost over $100. 2011’s are not exactly for the budget minded.

Yes, that part definitely stings!

I don’t like to waste time loading mags at the range, thus I show up with a lot of mags already loaded.

To accomplish this with my 2011’s I had to SLOWLY buy extra mags over time.

I’m glad that’s over with!

I’ll pass on the cheap 2011 market. You get what you pay for. 2011’s start with Staccato. Pony up or buy another platform.

Haven’t been impressed with a single 2011 under the Staccato’s price point. The Girsan 2311 is a terrible gun. I’m sure TISAS will be better, but that’s not saying much.

Both are nice guns. Not 2011’s, but definitely well made. I’ve got the Wilson EDC X9L and the full size DWX.

Me, either.
I shot an IDPA match Saturday with enough pre-loaded single stack magazines to go all the way through.
I have enough S&W M&P magazines for a club level match.
Not enough 2011s, but I will consider the matter this spring as shooting revs back up.

They don't have the same costs that US manufactures are faced with. "Free" stuff is only free to those that receive it, others still have to pay for it.

The, "stick it to big business" concept, really is just another tax on consumers, they just pass it down to us.

Back when importation of ammunition from China and Russia was not shut off, there were also better deals to be found on ammunition.

Get rid of your competition and you can set your prices where you want to.

Does Tisaa make an Officer's or a CCO aluminum frame in 9mm?

Both of these points need to be addressed for clarity for future readers.
1. Armscor's, who is the manufacturer if Rock Island Armory (RIA), full name is Arms Corporation of the Philippines and grew out of a company named Squires Bingham Manufacturing Inc
2. Springfield Armory 1911 frames were manufactured in Brazil by a company named IMBEL ( Indústria de Material Bélico do Brasil )
