Does anyone know if a safe that is TL-30x6 is marked as such or just marked TL-30?I found one that is marked TL-30 and seller said it was 2200lbs(he thought). It is 65"tall,30.5"deep and 26"wide.Sides are 3" thick and 1 1/2" of that is solid steel plate. Not sure what the other 1 1/2" is made of.Door is very thick and I believe it is way more than 2200lbs.When on the trailer,it put a load on a F-250 four wheel drive diesel.Had to buy the pallet jack it was on to move it.He now says he thinks it did weigh more. This was a good deal to pass up I thought till we got involved in moving it.Crushed the plywood several times among other things, this was hell to move.Could this be TL-30x6?I bought this one for a family member as this is not quite what I'm looking for.1 1/2" steel on the sides would seem very thick if it were just TL-30 door only.Comments would be appreciated.

It should have a small metal tag attached that has the UL logo. If that's the tag that says TL-30, that's all it is.

Should look like this:

Most of the steel plate safes with a TL-30 (or x6) rating would have 1" of A36 steel with a 1/2" of maganese steel laminated to it. With the walls as thick as they are, chances are it's a composite safe.

The average weight of a composite safe the with the measurements you stated would be in the 2,700 pound range.

Thanks a1abdj.Me and my buddies had to drive 300mi to get this thing. The one I get I'll remember to have delivered.Measurements are outside so it is kinda narrow for a gun safe.Works fine for her papers, documents, etc;.Started out for $1200.00 but after paying fuel, help and lumber we destroyed plus locksmith to change combo,I'm at $2000.00.And it's about 15yrs old.Next time it'll be one shipped with truck and lift gate.I'm glad it's done without anybody getting killed.I'm thinking the whole time,if this thing falls on one of us,there's no way to get if off them.:(
