Last weeks range session convinced me that I am peeing in the breeze...I have too many guns, not enough time and not enough money...:)

Im thinking of ditchin a whole bunch and consolidating...take up less space, easier to go to the range....

Theore6tically, I dont "need" half the stuff I got...why do I need a Walther P99? Or a Swede 38 that I have shot once in 4 years!!!!

So heres what Im thinking.....

My AR is untouchable. Every house needs an AR. Plus I can spend money on gussying it up so it has a high mess around with factor....

My Jungly is also untouchable, since for what I have into it, its great for its purpose...truck gun!!!!

What else?

Heres my thoughts.....

sell (prices are minimum I know I will get):

P99, new in box with NS...$450
Stery SSG with swar 10x scope and rings..$1450
M38 Swede Mauser $400
Yugo $100

That gets me $2400...I can get a BLASER LRS2 in 308 stripped for about $2900...AND........

They have 6.5x55 barrels for em!!!!!!!!!!!

So I could get a 2 barrel modern tactical set up.......

So now do I blow out my jewel, the M41B???? Easily I can get $1500 for it....then I have enough for the Blaser and the second barrel and a scope....

Or should I sell my pre 64 300 H&H ($900 +/-) and my darling Garand ($600+)...that leaves me the m41B which in a few years will be pretty valuable as the price is precipitously climbing...

My M1 carbine is untouchable, too much fun....sos the Broomie...so are the Nagants........

Help meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I see your sig line has changed a little bit, don't you operate a GREAT gun store?

If so, you can touch and touch all day to your hearts content. And I am sure you have more than enough contacts that you can shoot all of those rifles in question.

There is never anything wrong with cleaning, as long as it's not the inside of your gun safe.

Every time I think about selling something I get the shakes. It's just not right. Everyone should end up with to many guns.

:)

Keep the 300H&H and the Garand. Get the LSR2 with both barrels. I have a few that aren't negotiable but everything else is upgrade material. I traded a Browning 1885 highwall for a 12BVSS. Never did care for the 1885 and wanted to try a 12BVSS. Isn't as easy to swap anymore because things cost too much.

Get the M41B. If I had the money, I would. My parents would take objection to me buying a $1300 rifle when they are footing my college bill.

And don't sell the Swede. If you want, I can hold onto it for youuntil this notion of selling it passes :)

Keep the 300H&H and the Garand

Why those instead of the M41B?

If so, you can touch and touch all day to your hearts content. And I am sure you have more than enough contacts that you can shoot all of those rifles in question.

Yeah buit I like to play with stuff at nigfht and SWMBO gets neglected if I sit here all the time.....

yeah but you wont let me do the 5-year finance plan, so i'll let everyone else pilfer and loot your stash.

why do you keep trying to get me to spend more money when you know i'm saving up to pay bills and buy a car?

get thee behind me, satan!

I sell guns regularly. If 1) I don't fire it semi-regularly 2) I don't experience great joy from simply owning it, or 3) It didn't belong to my family- I sell it to get something that I will enjoy more...or think I will anyway.

OK guess I have an extra Surefire forend available then
doesnt count. if its less than $200 and i can justify putting it on my AmEx its not really a 'purchase'. besides, the cost of ninja-fying oneself is of no real consequence.

Its always easier to solve someone elses's problems.

Sounds like you already know part of the answer. Sell:

P99, new in box with NS...$450
Stery SSG with swar 10x scope and rings..$1450
M38 Swede Mauser $400
Yugo $100

No question on that, right? So the question is, do ya sell the Garand and the pre-'64 H&H, or do ya sell the M41B? Seems you already answered that one, too. Keep the one that will appreciate most in the coming years. Prolly the M41B. So sell the Garand and the H&H, and get the Blaser w/ 2 barrels, and yer done.

See how easy life can be?

(Well, if it were me I might hang on to the H&H, just cuz I think it'll appreciate more than the Garand, but that's the only complication.)

WA, i meant more along the lines of those were the minimum prices you could get, so since those were the minimums you were hoping for, i was just trying to be helpful by offering less, because i don't want you to have to settle for any more than absolutly nessesary :neener:

Don't do it. :(

Did you feel like you had to have them when you got them? Do they mean nothing to you?

I have gotten rid of a few guns that have just "come my way", but I had no real feeling of attachment to them. BUT I have sold a couple that I didn't think I needed, then realized my mistake to late. :banghead:

Go get a couple of stiff drinks. Go caress your guns, and tell them your sorry for even thinking about selling them. :scrutiny:

Go, go right now.

Yep. I was dealing with some 18-20 different calibers a few years ago, and it was more hassle than fun. I cut back to the basic (.22, 9mm, .38/357, .45acp, 30-30, 7.62x39, .308, 30-06, 12 ga -although I've still got 20 ga, 16 ga, and 28 ga I think that I'll never use) and I'm much happier now. Less ammo, dies, cleaning kits, parts etc. to stock. Ideally, I'd like to get down to 2, maybe 3 (or 4) calibers if/when I can decide which ones.

Less is more, more or less. It's a zen thing.

Just buy some more guns Ken. It isn't like they eat or need diapers changed. One day you might want another one just like the one you had and it WILL cost more then than it did when you got it the first time. Grease them up, put them in the safe and get some more that tickle your current fancy.
