I've actually used one of those Lee chamfer tools to ream out those crimps. It's just small enough to get inside the primer pocket. Talk about cheap!

Right now, both my son and I are shooting bolt action rifles in 223. So, we're going through a lot of it. I also have about 8-10 boxes of 5.56 which I was given. I don't have a ar15 yet, so I can't shoot them safely, but I will someday.
On the ch4d, I read that there is no support which can cause deformed bases. Is this true?
In any case, I'm seriously considering biting the bullet (lol) and just getting the Dillon. I figure I can sell it someday for what I paid if I don't use it much.

I thoroughly enjoy the SS600 from Dillon. It is quick and can be set up to be quicker (see how people rig them on YouTube). I set mine when I got it and haven't changed it since.. It is a great tool.

I swage but for only 200 cases I would just ream. You could do it with the Lee chamfer tool or just grab a twist drill bit.

Okay. I decided to go the cheaper route and got the military crimp remover adapter for my RCBS Prep Center. Tried it out last night and it works fine. Yes, it's taking a tiny bit of brass off, but so little. Glad I didn't spend the extra for the swager.

50 cases done--some issues
I did about 50 cases this morning with my new small military crimp remover. Some notes.
I did have some issues. Some of the primers (about 10%) would not go all the way in. I had to go back to the press and push them out and re-ream them. I think rg1 was correct when he stated that not all crimps are even around the primer pocket. I had to use some care and ream them on my larger military crimp remover and press on the side when the crimp was still present.
Anyway, I did the 50 and now I have another 70 more to go.
So, my feelings are that the reaming works if you take your time and take care using it, but swaging would be much faster and better. In the end, I'm happy with reaming.
