I was driving to the blood bank today and on my way I ended up in a side street. It was a bad part of town. As I was driving about 20mph I saw a guy walking in an intercept path with a glock in hand and hidden at his side. He was cocking it. I slumped down in my car and sped up. Luckily he wasn't interested in me and walked across the street. I made the first turn possible to get out of dodge. The blood bank was 1 block away in what was ironically a rather nice building. When I got there I called 911 and told them the rough location of the incident. She was asking me identification questions and all I could say was:
Bluejeans
A cast on one arm (couldn't remember which) but it was beige in color
A black semi-auto handgun (glock)
dark (probably black) shirt
African American
location 1 block northwest of the blood bank (didn't know the name of the street)
At this point I felt bad because I couldn't give specifics other than the make of the gun. I'm curious how people in this forum would have handled it. Would you have gone back and played scout at a distance? My decision to call 911 was easy as he was cocking the pistol. If someone was holding a pistol in hand (no cocking motion witnessed) in an open carry state is there anyone here that would NOT call the police?
