Today I enjoyed the outdoors. I chose to carry......

Out again up around 8,000' for what turned into a 4.5 mile wander.

Looking over more of the burned area. The problem originated somewhere below that far peak almost behind the burned tree. Colorado's largest wildfire.

I took Karen along, with some Swift A frame handload.

Some spots escaped the flames.

Pretty sure these are Black Bear prints.

It doesn't look much like it did last January, but I had a good time.

Looks like a nice place to get lost for a while:)
44 mag?

Another day at around 8,500' with the weather closing in.

Same .44 as last time, with different "shoes".

I quite like carrying in a SafePacker when there's a good chance of snow or rain.

And there certainly was some snow in places.

Of course, there's always the chance of truly big animals. That requires an appropriately powerful firearm.

Despite looking quite wild, I wasn't really all that far from human activity. This is the out of season campsite I was skirting round all afternoon.

Pudge

Your photo of your Model 65 reminded me of the long hikes my brother and I use to take through the snow. I carried my Ruger Speed Six in a shoulder holster while my brother carried his Browning Hi Power in an IWB holster.
